Clint Capela
Clint Capela tallies 5/9/1/1/3 line off bench
Fri, Jan 23, 2026, 4:28 PM
Clint Capela provided a boost off the bench with five points (2-of-5 FGs), nine rebounds, one assist, one steal and three blocks on Friday against the Pistons.
Analysis: Capela hasn't been more than a depth piece down low for the Rockets this season, which hasn't resulted in much production in the box score. However, with Steven Adams (ankle) out indefinitely, Capela has taken on more minutes and was able to contribute some boards and blocks in this game. He'll be a solid reserve moving forward, but as long as Alperen ?engün is healthy, Capela won't play enough to be worth rostering.
Kevin Durant
Durant drops 32 points with five triples in win
Fri, Jan 23, 2026, 4:19 PM
Kevin Durant led the Rockets with 32 points (11-of-19 FGs), seven rebounds, three assists, one steal, one block and five three-pointers in a 111-104 win over the Pistons on Friday.
Analysis: Durant got off to a hot start in this game and entered halftime with 18 points. He remained hot after the break and ended up scoring at least 30 points for the second time in 24 hours. Durant has now shot at least 55 percent from the floor in four of his last five games. He has been hot recently and continues to play big minutes; he's averaging 39.3 minutes per game over the past two weeks. As long as he's on the floor, KD will continue to shine.
Jabari Smith
Jabari Smith Jr. records 11/10/3/2/2 line vs. DET
Fri, Jan 23, 2026, 4:12 PM
Jabari Smith Jr. stuffed the stat sheet on Friday with 11 points (5-of-9 FGs), 10 rebounds, three assists, two steals, two blocks and one three-pointer against the Pistons.
Analysis: Smith has had some subpar performances recently, but he was able to turn in a strong line on Friday. This was only his second double-double of the month, and despite being a high-level defender, Smith hasn't been able to consistently contribute defensive stats. That wasn't the case in this game. He didn't do much scoring, but he was efficient. He'll look to keep it going against the Grizzlies on Monday.
Aaron Holiday
Aaron Holiday (back) ruled out Friday vs. Pistons
Fri, Jan 23, 2026, 12:24 PM
NBA Injury Report
Aaron Holiday (back) will miss Friday's game against the Pistons.
Analysis: Holiday is set to miss his fifth consecutive game when the Rockets take on the Pistons in Detroit. The veteran guard has spent the majority of his three seasons in Houston as a depth piece, and his absence on Friday will leave an opportunity for Reed Sheppard to continue to soak up the majority of the backup point guard minutes.
Tari Eason
Tari Eason, Dorian Finney-Smith out Friday vs. DET
Fri, Jan 23, 2026, 8:07 AM
NBA Injury Report
Tari Eason (ankle) and Dorian Finney-Smith (ankle) are out for Friday's matchup with the Pistons.
Analysis: Both players will get the night off for injury maintenance, which means Josh Okogie and Reed Sheppard should see additional minutes against Detroit.
Alperen Sengun
Alperen ?engün posts 13/8/7/2/2 line vs. PHI
Thu, Jan 22, 2026, 3:48 PM
Alperen ?engün amassed 13 points (5-of-15 FGs, 2-of-7 FTs), eight rebounds, seven assists, two steals, two blocks and one three-pointer in Thursday's loss to the 76ers.
Analysis: While ?engün finished Thursday's overtime defeat with a complete stat line, the efficiency was lacking. He shot 33.3 percent from the field and even worse from the foul line, struggling to get much going against the 76ers' center rotation. Nights like Thursday haven't been the norm for ?engün, but he'll have another difficult matchup on Friday when the Rockets visit the Pistons.
Amen Thompson
Amen Thompson records 17/6/9/3 line vs. PHI
Thu, Jan 22, 2026, 3:48 PM
Amen Thompson accumulated 17 points (7-of-11 FGs, 3-of-5 FTs), six rebounds, nine assists and three steals in Thursday's loss to the 76ers.
Analysis: Thompson's improved field-goal percentage has given his fantasy value a welcome boost recently. Over the past two weeks, he's shot 52.3 percent from the field, one reason why the Rockets' guard/forward has been provided top-50 per-game value during this run. Obviously, fantasy managers have to put three-pointers when rostering Thompson, but there's a lot that he brings to the table despite that “deficiency.”
Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant leads Rockets with 36 points vs. PHI
Thu, Jan 22, 2026, 3:47 PM
Kevin Durant accounted for 36 points (13-of-21 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), seven rebounds, three assists, one block and five three-pointers in Thursday's loss to the 76ers.
Analysis: After totaling 36 points on 12-of-30 shooting in his previous two games, Durant equalled the points tally on Thursday. However, while the shooting was highly efficient, he was responsible for a season-high eight turnovers. That may be a byproduct of Houston's lack of a stable point guard, as Durant was left to navigate Philadelphia's defensive pressure without much help. And things won't get any easier for KD, as the Rockets visit the Pistons on Friday.
Aaron Holiday
Aaron Holiday is out for Thursday's game
Thu, Jan 22, 2026, 8:27 AM
NBA.com
Aaron Holiday (back) is listed as out for Thursday's game against the 76ers.
Analysis: Holiday will now have missed three straight games with a back injury and four of the last five. The one game he did play, he was only able to play for four minutes. He only averages 14 minutes per game on the season, so this is not a major loss for the Rockets' rotation.
Aaron Holiday
Aaron Holiday (back) questionable Thursday
Wed, Jan 21, 2026, 11:00 AM
NBA Injury Report
Aaron Holiday (back) is questionable for Thursday's game against the 76ers.
Analysis: Holiday is dealing with back spasms, which is why he is on the injury report. The guard's availability does not affect fantasy basketball, as he isn't guaranteed rotation minutes when healthy.
Amen Thompson
Amen Thompson posts 16/10/6/1/2 line vs. SAS
Tue, Jan 20, 2026, 5:11 PM
Amen Thompson recorded 16 points (6-of-14 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), 10 rebounds, six assists, one steal and two blocked shots in Tuesday's win over the Spurs.
Analysis: Thompson recorded another robust stat line, continuing to offer excellent fantasy value. The Rockets' guard/forward has been a top-50 player in eight- and nine-cat formats. While the value may not align with his Yahoo! ADP (21), Thompson is only two rounds off after getting off to a slow start to begin the season. Something to watch is whether Houston adds a point guard ahead of the trade deadline, as that would affect Thompson's fantasy ceiling.
Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant notches 18 points, seven assists
Tue, Jan 20, 2026, 5:09 PM
Kevin Durant accumulated 18 points (7-of-12 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), four rebounds, seven assists, one steal, one block and two three-pointers in Tuesday's win over the Spurs.
Analysis: After going off for a season-high 39 in a January 17 win over the Timberwolves, Durant has totaled 36 over his last two games. However, he was more efficient on Tuesday than in Sunday's win over the Pelicans, and the seven assists were a nice bonus for fantasy managers. Durant has recorded 22 assists over the last three games and has offered second-round value in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks.
Alperen Sengun
Alperen ?engün records 20/13/9 line vs. SAS
Tue, Jan 20, 2026, 5:09 PM
Alperen ?engün finished Tuesday's win over the Spurs with 20 points (7-of-13 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), 13 rebounds, nine assists, two blocks and one three-pointer.
Analysis: ?engün finished Tuesday's comeback victory one assist shy of his second triple-double of the season. While he only attempted two shots in the fourth quarter, the Rockets' center's basket with 38.6 seconds remaining extended his team's lead to four. Houston held San Antonio to 14 points in the final frame. Houston now hits the road for a challenging back-to-back, visiting Philadelphia on Thursday and Detroit the following night.
Josh Okogie
HOU starts Amen, Okogie, Durant, Smith, ?engün
Tue, Jan 20, 2026, 1:38 PM
NBA Lineups
Amen Thompson, Josh Okogie, Kevin Durant, Jabari Smith Jr. and Alperen ?engün will start Tuesday's game against the Spurs.
Analysis: The Rockets lost Steven Adams to a Grade 3 ankle sprain during Sunday's win over the Pelicans, opening up a spot in the starting lineup. While Tari Eason (ankle) is available after a five-game absence, he'll come off the bench, with Okogie receiving the starting nod.
Steven Adams
Udoka: Steven Adams (anke) out indefinitely
Tue, Jan 20, 2026, 12:27 PM
Vanessa Richardson
Rockets coach Ime Udoka told reporters Steven Adams (ankle) is out indefinitely.
Analysis: Adams left Sunday's game against the Pelicans with an ankle injury and didn't return. While X-rays were negative, Udoka told reporters Tuesday that Adams is dealing with a Grade 3 ankle sprain and he's out indefinitely. With Adams sidelined, Tari Eason will move back into the starting lineup and Clint Capela could move into the rotation as the backup center.
Tari Eason
Tari Eason (ankle) available Tuesday vs. Spurs
Tue, Jan 20, 2026, 12:25 PM
Tari Eason (ankle) is available for Tuesday's game against the Spurs.
Analysis: Eason is returning from a five-game absence due to an ankle injury. With Steven Adams (ankle) now set to miss extended time, Eason should slide right back into the starting lineup against the Spurs on Tuesday.
Tari Eason
Tari Eason (ankle) questionable vs. San Antonio
Mon, Jan 19, 2026, 11:05 AM
NBA Injury Report
Tari Eason (ankle) is questionable to play against the Spurs on Tuesday.
Analysis: Eason has missed the last five games for the Rockets but could be back in the lineup to take on San Antonio. Steven Adams started in his place in Houston's last game, but Josh Okogie had been starting previously. Eason would likely start if he returns.
Steven Adams
Steven Adams (ankle) doesn't return after injury
Sun, Jan 18, 2026, 3:31 PM
Will Guillory
Steven Adams (ankle) finished Sunday's win over the Pelicans with five points (2-of-3 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), 10 rebounds and two assists.
Analysis: Adams, who started alongside Alperen ?engün, needed help getting back to the locker room after rolling his left ankle during the fourth quarter. The good news is that X-rays were negative, so the veteran center is dealing with a sprain. However, Adams is likely going to miss some time, which should push Clint Capela (DNP-CD) into the rotation.
Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant now sixth on all-time scoring list
Sun, Jan 18, 2026, 3:29 PM
Kevin Durant accounted for 18 points (5-of-18 FGs, 7-of-8 FTs), six rebounds, eight assists, one steal and one three-pointer in Sunday's win over the Pelicans.
Analysis: Durant didn't shoot the ball well, making one of his eight three-point attempts, but that didn't prevent him from making some history. With a fourth-quarter free throw, he passed Dirk Nowitzki to move into sixth on the all-time scoring list. The next name on the storied list is Michael Jordan. Durant didn't have his best night scoring-wise, but he did dish out eight assists to preserve some value. He'll look to have a better night on Tuesday against the Spurs.
Alperen Sengun
Alperen ?engün records 21 points, five steals
Sun, Jan 18, 2026, 3:28 PM
Alperen ?engün amassed 21 points (9-of-15 FGs, 3-of-5 FTs), eight rebounds, four assists, five steals and one blocked shot in Sunday's win over the Pelicans.
Analysis: ?engün had a good night, shooting 66.7 percent from the field and matching his career-high with five steals. If there has been an issue for the Rockets' center recently, it has been the foul line. Over the past two weeks, ?engün has only made 45.8 percent of his attempts. Sunday's 3-of-5 effort is a step in the right direction, and he's still shooting 69.9 percent for the season.
